Frequently Asked Questions

Please see guide

*Know your hair length and thickness.

This is important for proper pricing & timing!

How do I know if my hair is “fine to normal” or “long to thick” for pricing purposes?

Short = Chin and Above

Medium to Long = Below Chin to Middle of Back

Extra Long = Past Middle of Back

Hair thickness is measured by the diameter of your ponytail. If the result is greater than or equal to two inches, this is considered thick hair. In other words, if you barely get your hand around your ponytail you have thick hair.

Blonding & Color Service Pricing

One or more treatments are used depending on what is needed (K18, Olaplex, L'anza Pre-Blonde Boost, Color Attach and Trauma Treatment) are included in the cost for every Lightening and Color Service in order to protect the Color and Integrity of your hair. All color services include a blowout style.

*PLEASE NOTE: ALL PRICES ARE STARTING AT PRICES.

Color prices are starting based on 8-12 weeks of grow out. If it has been longer than that since you've had your hair done, expect to have extra bowls of color mixed at $25 per bowl. All color services have a base price and will range upwards depending on the plan we create and what needs to be used for your hair. Total chair time and pricing will vary depending on location, application, hair length, density and overall condition of hair. Long length and/or texture or very thick dense hair, using multiple colors and services require more products and time.

Consultations are recommended for anyone with a specific budget, please don't hesitate to let me know. I am happy to provide a price estimate for your customized service at your personal consultation.

HOW LONG WILL MY COLOR APPOINTMENT BE?

A typical color service is around 3 to 4 hours that includes enough time for a consultation, custom color application, cut, gloss and styling.

The professional color work I do are both creative & precise. I am doing advanced techniques, and they tend to take longer than what you may be used to at your local hair salon.

Please keep in mind that any major color changes (dark to light or color corrections) will usually need more time, or several appointments to achieve your desired look gradually and to maintain the health of your hair.

WHAT IS COLOR BUILD UP AND HOW DOES IT AFFECT THE DESIRED RESULT DURING MY FIRST VISIT?

Color build up is any type of color that has been put in your hair at any stage, even if you can no longer ‘see’ it.

Unless the hair is 100% grown out, you will most likely have old color left which affects the type of result that you would like to achieve. Color build up can cause banding, patchiness and color unevenness.

Clients often ask if they can achieve blonde in their first visit. This depends heavily on two things, your current hair color and color build up.

Once you have color build up it can take a long time to remove it, especially red or dark tones (browns and blacks).

If you hair is very dark when lightening it has to go through a warmer stage where you will see red, copper, orange, and brass tones before you can get to blonde. This could mean multiple lightening sessions. Usually it takes between 3 – 4 sessions spaced 8 weeks apart so that the hair doesn’t break from chemical stresses put on it from the lightening process.

In some cases it can take a year to completely achieve your goal color, it all depends on how fast your hair lightens up and how easily any color build up can be removed. I will usually know after the first color correction session, a basic timeline for you.

QUOTES VIA THE PHONE?

While I can give you a general estimate over the phone or by email, as everyone’s hair varies greatly when it comes to color (due to your own unique hair history including your natural & existing color, length, texture & lifestyle) I'm only able to provide exact quotes when I evaluate your hair in person.

I do offer extensive in-person consultations with a paid deposit, so you can find out your options and get an exact quote before you commit to a service. The deposit will go towards your future service and is refundable if a future appointment needs to be delayed because of your current hair condition or you decide not to schedule an appointment.

DO I NEED TO COME IN FOR A CONSULTATION PRIOR TO MY BOOKING?

If you are planning a major change to your current color, I strongly recommend scheduling a Color Consultation. If you are unable to schedule a consult, please text images of your current hair and your hair goals to 719-347-1978. This allows me to allocate the appropriate amount of time for your visit, plan and prep for your hair goals, and give you a cost estimate for services.

If it is your first visit to my hair salon, and you need an exact quote, then I recommend that you come in for a consultation prior to booking. This way I can assess your hair condition, hair color history & color build up. I will determine which color service will give you the desired look, assess time required for booking, perform patch and strand tests and also give you an exact quote.

I do understand that many clients travel from a longer distance and this may not be possible. You can also privately text message your current hair & hair goal pictures to the salon number 719.347.1978. After scheduling an appointment you will be notified to fill out a "New Guest Hair Date Request Form" that includes your color history, hair condition & maintenance.

This will give me a better understanding of what you are trying to achieve and we can then try and book for the correct allocated time. If I have not seen your hair in person, I can only give a price guide and will give you an exact quote after your in salon consultation before we begin any work on the day of your booking.

Please keep in mind that consults are stand-alone appointments. I have not seen your hair prior to your visit and you may need a major color correction first or your hair could be too damaged. Please do not schedule additional services on the same day as a consult as they are meant to plan accordingly for future appointments & the time needed.

Sometimes pictures are deceiving and a 3-hour booking may need to end up a 5-hour booking or multiple visits. I will always provide you with an honest assessment. If your hair is too damaged to do a chemical color service then I will offer you my intensive professional hair repair treatments instead.

What is the best way to communicate my styling and color preferences?

Providing Multiple inspirational photos are an excellent way to show your stylist exactly what you have in mind and understand the color and style you want. I LOVE it when you bring your Pinterest photos because they are current & on trend. You can also send photos of a time when you loved your hair. You will be given options and home care recommendations to keep the salon look going and to make styling easier for you.

Will hair smoothing treatments straighten my hair?

No! They absolutely WILL NOT straighten your hair, nor will they change your hairs natural pattern. They are strictly an anti frizz treatment. If you have expectations beyond simply reducing frizz,  PLEASE DO NOT BOOK THIS SERVICES!

What is your return policy on products?

I LOVE the products I use and I hope you do too! For health and safety reasons, my products can only be returned for a full refund if they’re unopened and unused, within 7 days of receipt. I understand that getting the right products for your hair care is important, and I will do my best to help you find one that works for you.

Do you allow children (10 and younger) in the salon?

Children are welcome as long as they are scheduled for services. If not, please respect the other guests’ peace and quiet by leaving your children at home. This also allows you time for yourself to enjoy your services.

What if I am not 100% happy with my hair and service?

I want all my clients to leave my salon feeling and looking their absolute best! If you are not happy with your service, I ask that you contact me within 72 hours of your service. I will be happy to make any reasonable adjustments as needed.

Please visit the Salon Policy page for information on Cancellations, Rescheduling, Late Arrivals and Refunds.
